It's more fun to photograph than to ambulate within.

Treedom

I have to say, I'm impressed with how well blogger has scaled this particular picture down. All those branches create quite a contrast against the dark background, and I had my doubts as to how clean it would end up looking online.

Mike at Circle K

This is Mike. He sold me the winning Powerball ticket. I think that maybe Circle K owes me some money for product placement.

Where Little Feet May Tread

This was an exercise in eliminating a lot of small blemishes from a picture. I think I did a pretty good job.

Winter Sunset

This my first attempt at a panoramic picture. Definitely one that looks better if you click on the image to see its larger version.

This picture is also a great example of how my blog service automatically downsizes pictures (even the "larger" version) when they are uploaded, in order to keep file sizes from getting too large. The original file for this picture is much larger and more detailed than what you are able to see here.

Alli

Alli was a dream subject for someone who has very little experience in taking portraits. She was my waitress at The Claddagh this evening and was willing to give me enough time to take several shots, even though she was working on closing the restaurant. She sat really still for me so that I could shoot without my flash, and was very good-natured and patient considering all the bumbling and fooling around with camera options that I did.

To take a good portrait of someone can be difficult, so I hope I did a decent job. Alli's natural beauty and friendliness made it very easy to take her picture once I got up the nerve to ask her if I could. She'll be off to see the world very soon, so I'm lucky that I chose to eat at The Claddagh tonight.

Big Cash Prizes!

Ben, the two of us need look no more
We both found what we were looking for
With a friend to call my own
I'll never be alone
And you, my friend, will see
You've got a friend in me
(you've got a friend in me)

I sold my old car today.

- Hidden means you can't see it. So leave the magnifying glass in the drawer.

Monogram

It's been suggested to me that it may not be immediately obvious what this is a picture of. So let me enlighten whomever might be curious. In a close to completely dark room, I took a 15-second exposure, and while it was taking the picture, I used a laser to paint my monogram on the wall. SAB: That'd be me.

ATF - WTF

This picture takes the record for the most time spent on a picture so far. However, I am happy with the result.

Keyless

Macro photography is hard. This was the best result of many attempts at getting a very close macro shot of this item. In the process, I've realized the importance of several things when it comes to macro shots:
1. The more light sources you have (including a macro flash that encircles the camera lens) the better.
2. It's very important to know how to adjust your white balance, and
3. Sometimes color is only a distraction.

This picture is one that is probably better appreciated by looking at the full-size version (click on it to see that).
